Stand-Out Features of the Bosch Rotak 34R

Lightweight, Ergonomic Design

This lawnmower is very lightweight, even though it boasts a bit more cutting power than similar lawnmowers in its class. The Bosch ARM 34 Ergoflex handles help you mow in a healthy posture and it’s easy to move around in tight spaces and between different levels in your garden. If you need to lift it, then most people would be able to do it quite easily and the handle also folds up so it’s easy to store away.

Rear Roller

This lawnmower has a rear roller, which is a feature usually found on either larger, more expensive lawnmowers or manual cylinder types. This roller allows you to create a nice, classic English striped look across your lawn.

GrassCombs

The addition of GrassCombs on this mower means you can cut right up along the edges of your lawn, getting a nice neat finish without having to go around with a strimmer afterwards. This is handy to have if you’ll be cutting along paths, walls, fences or other boundaries around your garden.

Cutting Width

The Rotak 34R has a cutting width of 34cm, which is slightly above average for its class and price. This should be quite suitable for most small to medium lawns up to an area of around 300sq. metres (approximately 17m x17m.).

Cutting Height

There are five cutting heights to choose from, between 20cm and 70cm. This gives you plenty of range, whether you’re looking for a fine regular cut or if you need to tackle a slightly more overgrown patch of grass. This mower probably isn’t quite up to prolonged heavy-duty use in the long grass but can easily handle most everyday situations.

Large Capacity 40L Grass Box

The grass box on the Rotak 34R has a capacity of 40 litres. This is actually pretty large for a lawnmower of this size, so you won’t have to be emptying it very often. It’s also easy to remove and put back on, which is always a bonus and it’s stackable for easy storing once you’re done.

Up to 3-Year Bosch Warranty

This mower comes with a 2-year warranty as standard, but this can easily be extended by signing up to the MyBosch membership scheme – which is free to join. It’s also worth noting that this should enable you to extend the warranty on any other Bosch power tools that you buy.

If you’re looking for a reliable, lightweight mower, then this mower is a good choice. For the price, it’s a very cost-effective option and considering value for money, it stands up very well to its rivals. The ergonomic design and GrassCombs feature, allowing a clean cut right to the edge, means you can keep your lawn looking neat with minimum hassle.

If you have a small to medium size lawn and won’t be taking on any seriously overgrown areas, then the power and cutting range should be plenty on this model. The rear roller is also a nice touch and worth considering if you’re hoping to impress the neighbours with a stripy lawn.

You might like to check out some of its rivals before making a final decision. At the time of writing this review, some of this model’s closest rivals are the Hyundai HYM3300E and the Flymo Easystore 340V.
